As early as age 9, the majority of girls will begin menstruation. This launch into womanhood constitutes many changes to their lives. On September 30th, SuperGirl Huntar launches her social action project titled Food4Life Summit. This food justice event aims to educate youth 10-15 years old on the importance of making healthy food choices even in difficult situations. GrassROOTS Community Foundation’s fifth annual R3: Roots, Rock Run 5k race was held on Saturday, June 3rd. Nearly 400 women, men, and children came out to the Anna L. Lingelbach School in Germantown to enjoy the interactive and fun morning of family wellness activities. The event provided something for everyone including free giveaways, music, and medals.
