On Saturday, June 26th at 1:00pm Join Dr. Beverly Guy-Shetfall will be in conversation with GCF President Dr. Janice Johnson Dias, Ayo Afejuku Gathing, M.D. and Alero Afejuku, J.D
They will explore the power of love to heal and help Black children thrive.
Beverly Guy-Sheftall , PhD is the founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center (1981) and Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies at Spelman College.
Ayo Afejuku Gathing, M.D. is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. Dr. Gathing specializes in promoting a healthy lifestyle and decreasing the stigma of mental illness.
Alero Afejuku, J.D. is a licensed attorney and academician. She completed her undergraduate and master’s program at Florida State University. Sparked by a love of children, she taught middle school and high school students in the subjects of English and Global Studies.
