Please have one caregiver answer the questions below

At GrassROOTS Community Foundation, we believe in strong racial identity development. We ask that families and girls study and understand the contributions of African people to the world.

SGS is a year-long commitment. Girls and their caregivers are asked to participate in monthly meetings. In preparation for the meetings, girls along with their caregiving circle will have to read emails and review other reading materials.

Being a member of the GrassROOTS Community Foundation is all encompassing. We seek to be in community with those who can incorporate and make these principles a part of their daily life practices.

This includes being willing to make the information a part of your family’s daily practices. Please rate your willingness to do the following:

SuperCamp tuition is $1800 per girl; this includes cost of camp and year round leadership development.  Through our collective efforts, we fundraise to provide financial support to the families we accept.  Three out of four families who are accepted receive financial support.

We practice healthy eating and movement. All participants of SGS including the caregiving circle are asked to participate in the SUGAR PLEDGE.  This means, if accepted, you must agree to reduce your artificial sugar intake including the full elimination of carbonated sugary drinks from your SuperGirl’s and family’s diet.

All the questions below are intended to help us evaluate your commitment to learning, community building, civic engagement and girls’ leadership development.

Community is important to us. We are interested in better understanding your ideas about community and your history of community engagement.
