DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Give Thanks for Girls Benefit Gala  honors black girls who have demonstrated through their actions in the community high levels of integrity\, academic excellence and ingenuity. \n  \nProceeds from the event goes to supporting the GrassROOTS Community Foundation efforts in developing girl changemakers. \n  \nThis year’s national honorees are: Marsai Martin of ABC’s Black-ish;\, Haile Thomas\, The Happy Organization and Mikaila Ulmer\, Me and The Bees Lemonade. \n  \nThe 2017 GIVE THANKS for Girls Benefit Gala is being held at the historic Robert Treat Hotel in Newark\, New Jersey. All guests will be provided with complimentary valet and coat check service upon arrival. \n  \n7:00-8:30pm – MYX & Mingle VIP Cocktail Reception \nHost: Mona Scott-Young\, CEO of Monami Entertainment \nThe reception provides a perfect networking opportunity to mix and mingle with entertainment industry professionals\, government officials\, GCF supporters and other influencers.  Confirmed guests include Mayor Ras J.
